Built in the late 1800's by the High Sheriff of Cornwall John De Cressy Treffry, Penarwyn House B&B is packed full of period features such as high ceilings, decorative cornices, parquet flooring and crystal chandeliers. Quality furnishings, fantastic food and owners with an in-depth knowledge of Cornwall, this is as ideal a base for an exploration of the county, as it is a relaxing escape from the buzz of city life.

Inside

  • Style: A fusion of contemporary and traditional décor combine inside this impressive property that features an eclectic mix of antique and modern furniture.
  • Bedrooms: Opulence reigns in the three en suite bedrooms. Choose from Treffry, where views of the front garden can be enjoyed; palatial Prideaux, with views over the verdant main garden and the smaller, but no less luxurious Caerhays; where sumptuous beds and quality furnishings combine to create a decadant feel.
  • For relaxation: After a day of exploration, lie back and let your worries float away as you sink into one of the roll top baths before ensconcing yourself in a fluffy white robe and lounging on your sumptuous bed.
  • For recreation: The panelled snooker room complete with board games, books and puzzles is the perfect place to relax of an evening.

Mike and Jan Russell have been in the hotel business since 1993. In their first season at Penarwyn House they were awarded the AA 5 red diamonds. Whether you’re looking for a local restaurant recommendation, or advice on where to explore in Cornwall, Mike and Jan have a wealth of local expertise and advice to offer. With local knowledge from a born and bred Cornishman, your days can be relaxed or as hectic as you want.
